Get to know us
In 2011, a group of ten friends asked themselves one simple question:
What would our dream home be like?
Collectively, they mapped out their visions and, in just a few weeks, found a place that closely matched their dreams…with the potential for expansion.
For ten years, they raised their children together and learned the ins and outs of living communally. The hardships and joys were equally matched as they became a chosen family.
That group has evolved through the years, as some of the original founders have moved and new residents have joined. It has grown to include more children and elders, chickens, bees, an adored pig named Pampa, and a plethora of friends from around the world, each bringing their own contribution to the shared dream of community.
Intentional communities come in all shapes and sizes—each with their own purpose and approach to life. Some are founded upon a religious or philosophical doctrine, an environmental or ecological initiative, or created to serve people of a similar age and activity (like retirement communities built around golf courses).
The Emerald Village, however, is comprised of people from various backgrounds, cultures, and upbringings. There are nearly eight decades of life between our youngest and oldest members. Our community includes sustainable agricultural practitioners, teachers, entrepreneurs, healers, builders, and more.
We have the opportunity to observe what happens when people from all walks of life come together to live. We learn from each other daily. As we invite others to share this home we call The Emerald Village, we are nurtured by the connection to the people who commune here, and hope to spark inspiration for others.

Today and Beyond
Today, EVO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit collective devoted to connection, transformation, and regeneration, within and around us.
We don’t rent spaces; we steward containers where magic unfolds. Our mission is to counter disconnection by offering a beautiful, inspiring environment where people can gather, share, rest, rejuvenate, and reconnect…with themselves, each other, nature, and the divine.
There are many ways to support this mission. Contributions of any amount are appreciated, tax deductible and can be made here. Your generosity helps us continue investing in the land, enhancing our spaces, creating meaningful programs, funding scholarships, and advancing our sustainability and accessibility efforts.
